Physics Circus at UTES

The Physics Circus came to UTES today as our final presentation for Science Month.  Learn more about who they are here.  This was a cool, hands-on science demonstration for the kids to learn about states of matter, electricity, and how temperature affects things.  We love having Big UT come teach us things and these presenters did an amazing job.  Check out the caption under each photo for a brief explanation of what was going on and ask your Little Longhorn what they learned.  A huge thank you goes out to the Physics Circus for taking the time to expand our Little Longhorns' scientific experience!

Depending on the temperature and pressure, these balloons shrink and expand!  Cool!
Can a banana work as a hammer?  If you change the temperature it can!

How do we fill the bag quickly with air?

She turned to pickle into a light with electricity!
What happens when you build up pressure inside a Dr. Pepper plastic bottle?

Adding more and more air pressure...

And KABOOM!!!!
